Information concerning bulk upload.... 1) i don't recommend bulk upload for users who are not accustomed to running auctions with kAuction. There may be information you forget to add to the item record that you will have to correct after the item is listed! 2) if there is an error in submission, bulk upload will end and you will have to correct the error and press 'bulk upload' again. possible 'errors' include the sign-in for selling screen, reserve price not higher than starting bid, category not selected, etc. 3) if you click the '+' button, that item will be marked for bulk upload. if you need to list the same item more than once, click the '+' as many times as needed. it will list the item with the exact information that is on the item record form. 4) if you click the '-' button, it will take the item off the bulk upload list when the quantity reaches zero 5) new items can automatically be marked for bulk upload if you like, as you add them to the database. click the '?' button and that option will be available. 6) as an item is uploaded, it is removed from the bulk upload list. in a future update, i may be able to allow the user to choose to 'save' certain groups of items in a bulk upload list (for users that list the same items repeatedly) but for now you will have to remark the items if you want them to be bulk uploaded again Tip: if you do have groups of items that you want bulk uploaded as a group at certain times, enter something in the item record 'notes' section. i.e. bulkItems1, bulkItems2, etc. then you can search the item records for all items with that in the notes section and remark them with greater ease then finding each item individually again. 7) during bulk upload, the item records form will NOT be accessible. plus, kauction will be busy working, as will the hidden browser that is doing the submission. that means, you can still work on some things, but it may be slow going. i recommend that you just let it run. 8) depending on your connection speed, this can go fast or slow. i am still on modem (believe it or not) and it took me about 90 minutes for me to bulk upload 71 items on sunday night. it was VERY nice though....i had all the item records ready and just pressed one button to submit them all! 9) ALWAYS check which items are marked for bulk upload before beginning a session! choose 'items marked for bulk upload' from the item records form....it's a new filter in the 'item records view' drop down list box. 10) test it out first with a small group of items....5 or 10 at the most, to see how it works. then if there was a problem with the listings, it won't be as tough to correct as if you start with 50 items! 11) do NOT just leave the computer while bulk uploading when first trying it out. make sure you check it to see if there is a problem or error so you can correct it and start bulk upload again. 12) LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES! thanks folks, dan
